As you can see, we’re working on some new releases. With English an Portuguese subtitles. Unfortunately, still using windows based OS. For now! Next year we’ll try to be a fully linux based fansub.
Why are saying Unfortunately and going for linux? Call us nerds or other ugly names, but we like opensource software and so do you. But our guess is we’re a little more hardcore, concerning this. FYI, every tool used on fansubbing (at least the ones we use), including filters for video encoding are generously made by video-encoding enthusiasts. And linux, has a very good set of these tools as well. So why not go linux, instead of Windows based OS? Linux is all about this same genorosity and giving. We like windows, but we also like Open Source and to be on the underdog’s side.
It has also crossed our minds, to encode as well on theora, an opensource video codec, but we haven’t had the time to try settings and stuff, and we don’t know if anyone would pick it up, unfortunately. But we’re keeping that in mind.
So in a near future we’ll try to make all of our work in linux powered machines, and advertise some of our chosen distros as well, on our blog.
And that’s the news for today, folks. See you next time, peepz.
